Denta is this very yummy and savory treat, My friend Emily and her family came to stay with us over the summer and when she decided to make this Chinese Dessart, yes...it is art!!! Thanks Emmer! And thanks to the lovely Sous Chef, Isara and the taste conisseurs, Tamra, Lola and Austin!
Will post the recipe soon! Right Em?! :)
A couple of things today...
1st- I am a published writer in a magazine! There is an article in Best Ever You, a publication on the east coast. It's about a girl living with severe allergies. My friend and owner of Sweet Alexis Bakery, Michele, asked me to write it! So excited!! Check it out when you get the chance!
2nd- New post with some scrumptious Sweet Alexis treats over at CharmingBirdie. Here is a little sneak!
3rd- My brother dropped off my nephew who will be staying with us for few weeks! The girls are excited to have their cousin with them!
4th-The SLO Triathlon is now about two weeks away. Going to do 15 miles today and keep up with the abs! Love their new logo this year!
Hope you have a super sweet Sunday!
Just imagine.....
taking a bite out of this on a nice, hot summer's day! The softness of the cookie, the melty greatness of the chocolate and the cool, refreshing drips of ice cream! Here is the recipe:
- 2 Sweet Alexis Chocolate Chip Cookies (these are dairy, egg, peanut & tree nut free cookies)
Yes these are bakery bought cookies...I cound't help myself! I found this great local bakery that sells the most amazing allergy free goodies...and they are really tasty!!!! Yes, you can make your own, but this just gave me more reason to go into Sweet Alexis and buy more!
- 1 Large scoop of non-dairy ice cream
- You can figure out the rest!!!
I was looking through my photo library and came accross a folder I made full of wine pics. I realized I had wanted to do something with these, so I went and got creative with some flourishes and this is what I cam up with! I love my MAC! Helping me SPARK! my creativity!! Especially with my bum knee!
I wasn't exactly planning of starting off the year with an intense kneee surgery. But I feel very lucky to be surrounded by a community of caring friends. This whole past week, my friend Robyn set up a week of care meals. Thanks so much to Robyn, Jeanne, Jennifer, Idona, Shannon, Candida and their significant others for all the wonderful food this week. It has helped so much and Trevis and I are simply overwhelmed. At one point we felt kinda non-deserving of all this, but then graciously took the help and kindness with love! We look forward to paying it forward when we have the opportunity! Thanks to Teresa for my care package and to Amanda for the crutches...and thanks to all my buddies and friends and family that have offerred words of care and comfort on facebook, drivebys and daily phonecalls (Emmer!)
I have to look at this knee thing as the SPARK! to get my health back and take it seriously. I still think this is going to be a great year! I raise my internet wine glass to you all and to the future and all that it may hold. Already only 11 months to go until the new year! Let's make them count!
First a little day before thanksgiving goodness!
Instead of pigs in a blanket, Trevis made butterflies for breakfast!
that evening we had pork pot pie-another one of Trevis's find creations! I did the dishes!!
Went for a brisk walk after dinner! Felt good to get bundled and see our breath as we walked!
All three girls got cuddly on the couch before bed.
On our way to Thanksgiving dinner at Jenny and Donna's, we stopped by this home because we saw a bunch of chickens that looked like they were escaping from the yard. The owner came out and told us that it was normal. Then after kindly giving us some free range eggs, she showed us her pet turkey! She has had this one for about three years! No plans to eat this one! But then we found out her brother was promptly being dressed for dinner!
Finally at Jenny and Donna's home! Our second family! Coudn't help but snap their wine bar!
NOW SOME MORE MOUTHWATERING...having leftovers?!
Alas, no pictures of dessert! But it was yummy! Hope you all had a wonderful, savory thanksgiving. Looking forward to the holidays and traditions of cookie making, cider drinking, decorating, wrapping, singing, making, sharing and giving!
After the big thankgiving get together, full of family, friends and feast, about 15 adults went wine tasting in the North SLo County. We made it out to three beautiful vinyards: Venteax, Niner and one of my new favorites, Four Vines. The company was fantastically fun, the wine was impeccable, the weather was brisk and perfect, and we were well looked after by our lovely chaffeur! The pictures speak for themselves. But was started as a whim, has now become a tradition...Wine tasting after thanksgiving-third year. Tomorrow brings a warm recap of the actual Thankgiving festivities-mouthwatering!!! But for now...enjoy the wine region!
